:I have had this problem on and off for six years. I have not had any functional testing apart from reassurance from my doctor. I am actually petrified of the test and as I have not become any worse in terms of my symptoms in six years, my doctor leaves it at that. However, it is so reassuring that others have the same problem and find it very psychologically debilitating. This leads me to the conclusion that it is stress related for sure.
Another problem I have is a churning stomach from time to time which often coincides with the lump. Does anyone experience this? I also know that this is a classic symptom of anxiety and stress.
I think what makes it worse is my phobia that I have somethng seriously wrong with me. I have learned that this is heightened when we focus on the "lump" and the "churning" which is a double edged sword as it only makes the problem worse.
I don't have any constructive answers except that reassurance from other sufferers really helps. This site is a Godsend. Are we crazy? Well maybe just a tiny bit ..... but we're not alone.
