I had a lump in my chest right by my heart due to a surgery that required 2 incisions right next to each other. Well for some time it was really small then all of the sudden it started growing and didn't stop. This really began to scare me because I knew how close it was to the heart and all I could do was wonder what would happen if I got hit there and it got slammed into my heart; what would happen then. My doctor considered it either a lypoma (fatty tissue) or scar tissue. I have many scars and have had some for many many years none of these developed such lumps that continued to slowly grow for several years. It started as a small point then developed into a dime sized then really massive to the point of actually pushing skin outward to be visable no longer just there only to touch. When my doctor started me on Ativan it was for my anxiety disorder. A few weeks went by I never noticed it until one day I felt it and it was slightly smaller. A few more weeks went by and I noticed it was completely gone. The only thing I take is Ativan no other prescribed drugs, this is the only thing I changed in my life as far as diet-wise, I really believe that the Ativan made this "lypoma" go away as at the time I first went to him it was still growing and surgery was a decision that I could have made to get rid of it. I am now extremely happy that I not only saved myself from a few days of pain but also saved money by not going under the knife as well.
In short a lump that had been slowly growing in my chest for 6 years up until Ativan was introduced went away within 2 months while on Ativan....draw your own conclusions.
