I to have been experiencing this mystery burnning sensation without a rash. The first time it occured was in august, it covered the insides of both my thighs, this lasted well up to ten days with little relief. Then on the eleventh day it started to dimminish. In the beginning of october, it occurred again. This time on my upper left torso right along my bra line. when I went to the doctor they thought it was shingles. After no rash apperead they reffered me to a nuerologist. I will meet with him january 2002. As this instense started to go away another patch on my lower back waistline came on strong with pain and still no rash. this instence lasted about 8 days. Two weeks ago another painful burning patch occurred again on my left torso however accompanying the burn feel like tight muscle pain as well. Ice doesn't make it feel better and when my body experiences a dry heat it also does not help. however sitting in a hot bath doesn't seem to bother it at all it actually feels good. The other cases listed here seem to be constant and not sparatic like my situation is this true? does this sound similar to any thing you may be experiencing and if so please let me know what info. you may have. thankyou!
: Several months ago, I developed a very annoying itchy spot on my back. There was no redness - no rash - or marks of any kind on my skin. I initially thought this could be an allergy reaction or dry skin and used several dry skin products to no avail. About 8 weeks ago - the itch became extremely intense and over the counter ointments didn't work and I made an appointment with my doctor. The doctor prescribed an antihistimine (Allegra) to help stop the itching. The itching has calmed down - but now I am having extreme burning sensation which has moved to various locations on my body. The inside of both arms and the spot on my back burn so bad - it can best be described like a very very bad sunburn or burn caused by steam. The pain is so intense it keeps me awake at night. There is nothing visable to the eye and the skin does not feel hot to the touch. I am under doctor's care, but cannot find an answer what is causing the problem or relief from the burning/itching skin. Has anyone else every experienced something like this - and can anyone offer any information or suggestions for a cure?
