: : : : : : : My Mom has been diagnosed with exema, and it's driving her crazy, especially the itching.
: : : : : : : doctor gave her some cream and some type of spray.
: : : : : : : anyone have any ideas on what to use for the itching? The stuff the doctor gave her is not working real well.

: : : : : : : The rash keeps reappearing in other places on her body. Where does it come from?what is the cause.
: : : : : : : thanks for the response
: : : : : : ---------------
: : : : : : She should tell the doc that the cream is not helping. there are several on the market.
: : : : : : I do know benedryl helps with iching. There is a generic over the counter pill to take. It can make you sleepy! You can break it in half. But, call the doc.....see if there is another cream she can try.....sometimes if your doc has them....ask for a sample! Then you do not have to spend $ on something that does not work :)
: : : : : : Good luck

: : : : : Forgot.......she could have shingles. My mom had this. It is awful, and sometimes painful. Look it up on the www

: : : : I'm 19 years old and I was diagnosised with facial exema. I've been treating it for over 3 months now and it's still spreading. If anyone can tell me what causes it or what helps to heal it I would greatly appreciate it. Also if anyone knows the name of a good doctor in the NY area for exema, please give me their name.
: : : A couple of months ago I saw a 12 year old girl on Good Morning America, she was the daughter of a doctor. She has had exema all of her life and her parents had taken her all over the country to search for something to relieve the terrible itching...they found a cream that is not approved yet but will be shortly...the girl said after using the cream she was able to actually sleep a full night for the first time that she could remember in her life!!!!My problem is I did not write the name of the cream down and thought I could just go to Good Morning Ameerica's web site to find out but so far I haven't had any luck. Did anyone else see the show and know what I am talking abou...if so PLEESE send me the info or help me locate it froom the show. THANK YOU

My name is Courtney, I have had excema since birth and a very severe case to say the least. I am 24 yrs. old and i hope that I can help someone who is battling with the same illness. First, I began tanning in a bed a few days ago and its actually clearing up the rash on my face thank God! Although there is no cure for excema, infants usually grow out of it, I was one of the unfortunate few who did not. I have learned over time that many things aggravate the condition, the most significant being stress. I found that when i get upset, a breakout occurs usually within 24 hours. Some of you may have been told to bathe often. I suggest bathing every other day. Water can make the rash worse, as a matter of fact, i think, in a way, that excema seems to be an allergic reaction to water. I am not a doctor, but i know what has worked for me, and i really hope to help others out there. Also, stay away from acid foods such as tomatoes, caffeine also aggravates the system and yes Chocolate! I use Cetaphil lotion after bathing and use a prescribed cortisone (2.5%). I reccommend avoiding creams with cortisone steriods because i used them for a number of years only to have my condition worsened along with being left with something called Striae in my inner thighs where i used this cream the most. Using steriod medicines can make your body dependent upon them and I had to learn the hard way. Thanks Doc! Anyways my main point is that the tanning sessions are working for me and i will keep you posted.
