Despite the old age and the need for companionship, seniors undergo divorce. Korea Family Legal Service Center has reported that there have been 331 cases of family counseling that are done with the seniors. And surprisingly, 4.8% of these cases belong to 80 years older. Furthermore, there are 7.8% of cases belong to go to 70 years old and up. Though the reasons vary, the statistics show that the dramatic increase of this rate started back in September 2006.

This fact contradicts the nature of the seniors who approve of strong family ties. But shockingly, 80-year old oldies are having some counseling to save them from the verge of breaking-up

On the other hand, seniors not just deal with problems of their own. They can also be influence in divorces among middle-aged couple where they meddle with their son or daughter’s personal affair.
