Picture your grandmother going techie at times of emergency. If you the scene, then you might be understanding the concept of 911 Senior Cell Phone Program. Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard from Oakland County Sheriff’s Office invites everyone to take part of this program, especially those in the community who has cell phones that are no longer in use.
Aside from equipping the seniors with mobile phones, this program also gives them convenience by typing 9-1-1 in their keypads during emergency. This will definitely provide them faster access to 911.
“I hope the senior citizens of the county will take the opportunity to be part of this program. Having a mobile, emergency means of communication is like having an insurance policy,” Bouchard said. “You don’t know if you’re going to need it, but if you do, you’re covered. It’s quick, easy and could save lives.”
