You can no longer throw a party for your son and daughter because you can no longer handle the stress. Yo can no longer cook for your grand kids because cooking can be stressful. And you can no longer chase and play with your dog because your body can no longer move like the way it used to. Hmmmm, there are things that you miss because of the weaker condition of your body as you grow old. You miss doing those things because those are the things that cheer them up. But now that you are old, your willingness to do that may be stopped because of your physical condition, which later, can make you unable to make them happy.
On the other hand, this thought can be wrong especially when you know how to cheer them in a different, but easy way.
1. Make cards. It isn’t as stressful as cooking where you bake, boil, and fry certain ingredients for a certain amount of time just to get that perfect taste. By making cards, you can be entertained without exerting too much effort for the things that you’ll do is cutting, putting decorations and colors, and writing – something that won’t tire you out and at the same time, will entertain you and make you creative.
2. Show affection. Patting their back, holding their hand, hugging them, and saying that you love them are already adequate to make them smile.
3. Bond with them. Let them know that you really care by asking them about their lives and sharing your stories. This is just a step in developing deeper bonding with them.
