Knee Replacement

Knee replacement is a common treatment that most seniors who experience advanced osteoarthritis of the knee undergo. The decision to replace the knee joint is dictated by the increasing pain that a senior feels and the decreasing function of the knee.

The procedure is often tagged with great pain and discomfort and it often requires an intense rehabilitation that will follow the replacement procedure. Follow up with the orthopedist and therapist is a must to assure the improvement of the function of the joint and to monitor pain.

If the mobility is satisfactory but the pain still remains, then a visit to the orthopedist is highly recommended and if afterwards, relief is not attained, then it is about time to ask for a second opinion.
