In Shelbyville, Indiana, the oldest person on the face of the planet, Edna Parker, will turn 115 years old this coming Sunday. Scientists call them supercentenarians who can help the field of research in the mystery of longevity.
Even her grandchildren are wondering how she lived for so long. Don Parker said that she has never been worried and was always thin. Sot hey thought that maybe it was her lifestyle or her genes.
Several years ago, Edna’s DNA samples were taken and kept along with 100 other people who made the 110-year old ceiling. Scientists said that they may be the ones who can help in the quest for longevity enabling genes.
Parker was born on April 20, 1893 and was recognized by Guiness to be the oldest person to walk the planet since the death of a Japanese woman who was four months older than her. She was a widow back in 1938 where her husband died of heart attack. When she reached 100, she moved in to one of her sons and then cheated death a couple of months later. They said that it was on a winter day when she went missing and she was found by her grandson freezing outside. All she suffered was frost bites. She even outlived 2 of her sons
When they ran a family history, scientists noticed that her sisters died at the age of 99 and 8 which then moved Dr. Nir Barzilai, the director of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, to quote that longevity is in the family history.
Other scientists believe that the secret to a long life is now believed to be a mix of genetics and environmental factors like health habits. To conclude, they said that they seem to handle stress better than the rest of humans.
Genetics or whatever other reason it may be, it seems that they are handling their lives perfectly. They never worry too much, they stay in shape and manage to be healthy. I think that would suffice as the secret to a long life. But of course, I would like the research to draw to a close because this research about longevity enabling genes will surely spell a difference in the world today.

Correct Posture
Filed Under Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Posture is one of the darkest problems of a senior. They may not notice it but in their younger and more glorious years, they may have slouched too much. My grandfather had this problem when he was still alive. He experienced a lot of strain and a lot of problems with his lower back and shoulders.
What seniors need to work out on is their posture. They need to sit up straight or stand straight to attain a good posture. They have to relax their muscles and bones before they get used to being in a slouched position.
To encourage this, you should try to have one ergonomically designed chair for them to sit on. This will help hone their posture back in shape OR you can purchase a posture correction machine. I read a couple of reviews from machines and they work pretty well.
