Pick’s disease

Pick’s disease or better known as PiD is the cause of 0.2 – 4 % of dementia. This type of disease affect people who are aged 40-60 and it affects women more than men. The disease causes progressive destruction of the nerve cells in the brain.

The symptoms of PiD can hammer adults of all ages. These symptoms include the following: decreased language capacity, mood swings, personality changes, bad manners, impulsive behavior, dullness of emotions, loss of inhibitions, severe depression, masturbating in public, paranoia, selfishness, obsessive routines and childlike behavior.

Alzheimer’s disease and Pick’s disease is somewhat similar in nature. The main difference between their cognitive functions differ significantly in personality alterations and speech problems.
