Back injury is a problem that most seniors wish that they do not encounter. When they exercise or lift something up, they should be more careful simply because their bones are not as strong as they used to be.
Here are some tips in order to prevent back injuries among seniors.
1. Stretch the legs and back before doing a lot of carrying.
2. Wear protection on hands and feet.
3. Use a stool or a ladder to reach objects that are above your shoulders.
4. Always keep your feet planted on the ground and lift with the legs, not with the back.
5. Always get help carrying heavy objects.
6. Keep the stomach pulled in and use those muscles to support the back.
