In Oklahoma City, Ada received a state grant for a senior citizen center rehabilitation project. This was announced by Sen. Susan Paddack and Rep. Todd Thomsen recently.

They received a little over $114,000 for FY 2008 Multipurpose Senior Citizen Center Grants. Eight other centers will receive grants later on this year. On the other hand, the Social Services Foundation of Southern Oklahoma will be receiving a grant that is worth $5000 to buy a commercial size air conditioner unit for the kitchen in Ada Nutrition Center.

This project will benefit around 4,000 residents.
