Serving size

As a senior citizen, one of the things that you need to look at is the nutritional content of the food that you are eating. Most of them are labeled according to serving size.

After working his farm every day, an old farmer rarely had time to enjoy the large pond in the back that he had fixed up years earlier with picnic tables, horseshoe courts, and benches. Healthday News – It is not new to hear senior citizens breaking their bones. Although it is sad, it is a reality. When they break bones in their arms for example, a splint or a cast is applied to help heal the broken bone.

While the cast does the job in healing the bone, the cast has to be taken care of too. Here are some of the suggestions that the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons offer:

1. Keep the casts dry. When you shower, cover it with at least 2 layers of waterproof protection.

2. If you have a walking cast installed, give it plenty of time to dry and to harden before you even try to walk on it.

3. Do not pull out the stuffing or break the edges off the cast. You need to inspect it regularly for weak spots or visible cracks.

4. Do not stick any objects, poweders or deodorants under the cast. Talk to your doctor if cast feels itchy and you feel a need to scratch.
