Popular Cosmetic Procedures for Seniors

When we notice imperfection brought about aging, the first thing that comes in mind is how to improve it. As humans, we seek perfection. Nowadays, there are ways to restore youthful physical appearances for seniors since they are widely accepted now than ever before. Some of them provide dramatic results while others come with drastic side effects as well.

Like I said, there are ways. There are two types of cosmetic procedure: the invasive and non-invasive. For braver seniors demanding results now, the invasive cosmetic procedures are for you. Take note, invasive or surgical procedures should be done in hospitals for your safety, or at the very least, a reputable clinic licensed to do these kinds of procedures.

Droopy breast are restored to its firm and perky glory by breast augmentation. This surgical procedure involves the use of breast implants to make the breast fuller while breast lift or mastopexy is when excess skin is removed to tighten breast tissues. This procedure will enhance the shape and support of the breast. Breast reduction on the other hand, removes excess breast tissue to make the breast appear proportioned to the body. Liposuction is done to remove unwanted fat from different parts of the body. Tummy tucks are also amongst the popular surgical procedures done around the abdominal area.

Aside from the breast, signs of aging are visible in the face as well. Face and neck lifts are done to correct loose, sagging skin around the facial area. Eyelid lifts are for drooping eyelids commonly found in seniors. Puffy, loose eyebags are also repaired during this procedure. Another procedure done around the eye area is the brow lift which eliminates appearances of wrinkles in the brow and forehead. Rhinoplasty is done to change the shape or size of your nose and this is very popular across all ages. Chin augmentation is also popular to seniors since facial bones tend to shrink with age. With chin augmentation, the underlying facial features are fully enhanced.

Seniors go for cosmetic procedures for varying reasons, both men and women. With many options to choose from, clearly this is a very appealing venue to change the way we look and feel. For hesitant seniors, try non-invasive cosmetic procedures since they also offer immediate results, shorter recovery time and lower cost than surgical ones. These procedures are usually done around the facial area and involve as little as injections and minor peeling treatments.

Collagen injections plump up the facial skin for a smoother, youthful appearance while Botox injections paralyze the facial muscle to prevent lines from appearing on the face. Microdermabrasions are for suctioning off dead skin cells and debris from the face. These harmful particles are usually the ones clogging our pores. Dermabrasion is applied when you need to resurface your skin by scraping the outer layer thus encouraging new layer of the skin to grow. This same principle is also used in laser skin resurfacing which removes wrinkles, age spots, moles, tattoos and warts. For unwanted hairs, laser hair removal is the way to go.

Seniors can experiment with these options whether surgical or non-surgical procedures as long as their health permits them. However, you should do some legwork first in choosing the right clinic for you because in this field, there are plenty of scammers not licensed to do these things on human bodies. Also, government plans such as Medicard and Medicaid do not cover these kinds of procedure. Do check your wallet before deciding since some of them are costly.
