Make Money By Blogging

One of the greatest gifts the internet has been known to give us is the ability to earn money just by spending time on it. Just imagine this: seniors who cannot go out and work hard anymore are no longer bound by their disabilities. They now have the ability to earn as much as any other physically able individual out there without having to contend with rigorous demands of the outside world. Yes, it can be done and internet indeed gave us, seniors, hope, to be financially independent once again!
I have discussed—rather extensively—the many possibilities of earning online that are perfectly suitable for older adults, near retirement age, seniors and even the elderly, i.e using the internet to your advantage. There are many jobs online, virtual offices are set and you can even run your own online store if you want to. Now, let me add blogging to that.
First off, I must warn seniors that not everybody is born to blog. In other words, blogging is not for every Joe and Jane you meet off the street. It takes a certain level of passion and interest to be able to maintain a good blog. One good indication that you can handle the demands of blogging is when you’re able to keep a diary for years without skipping a day’s entry. If you’re able to do this then you got good chances of making money out of blogging.
Just a short introduction for seniors who are new to the term “blogging”:  the word “blog” is a shortened term of “web log”. A web log works like a diary, or a scrapbook—you can do pretty much whatever you like and be creative as can be. However, blogs are expected to be shared—and viewed by other people—although you can set it to be private, just like a diary. However, if you intend to earn money from it, you must bring your blog to the public and make it fit for public consumption as this is the only way to make the most out of your blog.
A note though, senior bloggers need not be professional writers all the time, they just need to know how to write in a manner that can capture the public’s attention, or publish interesting photos, videos, tidbits and links that are useful to anyone who surfs the internet. However, it is important for your blog to have one theme or broad subject in mind, as limiting as it may sound, the beauty of it lies on the level of interest your subject can generate—heck, it can be your life you’re writing about!
So where exactly the word “money” comes into the equation? As soon as your blog is up and running, you can place ads here and there. You can also join affiliate and referral programs or even sponsorships. You can recommend merchandise too—which of course, you stand to gain if and when your blog is able to sell.
