Supplementary Treatments and Cancer

Before I start enumerating foods that can kill cancer cells, it is better to keep in mind that this post is in no way created to treat cancer patients, much less, disregard medical care and treatments for cancer. What I hope to accomplish by posting this is for seniors to have a guide on what to eat if you are predisposed to having this terrible condition. In battling cancer, I firmly believe that prevention is always better than cure since most cancer treatments lessen a patient’s quality of life. To date, there is no specific way to treat cancer and the way it behaves, unfortunately, is still a mystery to healthcare professionals.

Supplementary programs like this should be treated as an added line of defense for cancer. Seniors should consider these supplementary and complimentary treatments since they need all the help they can get—weakened immune system and all. Some of the foods mentioned in this post can even help seniors in recovering from medical treatments. Another point to consider when battling cancer is knowing the exact cancer cell line you should be targeting. Do note that not all cancer cells are created equal, in fact, there are about thousands of them discovered as yet—and still counting. Your doctor will be able to help you determine the cancer cell line by doing blood work and other typing tests. One good reason in insisting to know your cancer cell line is to be able to plan accordingly on how to fight the type of cancer that has stricken you.

Aside from determining your cancer cell line, there are other things you must consider if interested in supplementary treatments in killing cancer cells. One of which is your metabolism since most of the substances you’ll introduce to your body is food-based. Naturally, your metabolism will burn these substances off. Knowing your metabolism rate will help you determine the right amount or dosage your body needs to be able to successfully affect the cancer cells.

Below are some foods that can kill cancer cells thus should be incorporated into your daily diet:

•    Acai Berries. It is rich in anti-oxidant, a molecule responsible in helping damaged cells to self-destruct and healthier ones to repair themselves. When introduced to a cancer cell, it effectively triggers self destruction, killing the cancer cell instantly.
•    Aloe Vera. Aloe, in general, has many uses, mostly topical. It has softening properties and it can soothe minor skin problems. Researchers believe that it can boost your immune system, making it strong enough to kill cancer cells.
•    Ginger. Ginger was found to not only kill cancer cells but also make their defenses and resistance to treatment down, enabling cancer treatments to effectively kill them. However, check with your doctor first if you are undergoing treatments at the moment.
