Psoriasis Home Remedies

Psoriasis is one of the most frustrating and a common skin disorders which is autoimmune and recurs. The condition is characterized by annoying red flaky patches which appear on the skin and affects you and can even cause significant disruption in your daily life. Psoriasis has no cure but there are many treatments available for easing the symptoms and good news is that some could be just right in your home. * Dietary supplements: Most of dietary supplements that you could probably be having in your medicine cabinet are very helpful in curing psoriasis symptoms. Supplements such as vitamin D, Cod liver oil, milk thistle among others are very helpful. You should take supplements but be careful not to take the ones with bad side effects. The fish oil should also be applied directly on the skin and works perfectly well.
* Diet that we take also determines our level of body immunity and ability to fight diseases and infections. Healthy diet is very important but there are few types of food that are known to help in treating Psoriasis. Foods such as soy, chocolates, nuts and cranberries are known to be effective in treating psoriasis and thus should be taken in good quantities. You should also avoid fatty food and red meat.
* Moisturizing the skin is another home remedy that helps ease the symptoms of psoriasis. You can use humidifiers and sensitive-skin moisturizers to prevent the skin from drying and forming plaques.
* Applying olive and vegetable oil on the affected skin to lock up the moisture and nutrients in the skin is also a very effective remedy. You should massage a good amount of the oil on the skin to help loosen the plaques.
* Taking a shower with lukewarm water with Epsom salt, milk, olive oil and mineral oil. This helps soothe the itching and infiltrate plaques and scales.
* Another important thing to take care when fighting Psoriasis is avoiding use of soaps with dyes and perfumes with fragrances. Most soaps and perfumes that are used have dyes and perfumes for great smell but the dyes and fragrances in them can inflame psoriasis. You should try to use products that are made for sensitive skin to avoid this frustrating skin disorder.

The listed remedies have worked for some people but not all works for everybody and no cure has been discovered for Psoriasis. Therefore as you try the suggested options among others you should keep a list of what works for use.
