0445 9-6 New Orleans, LA -- SEEKING TRAVEL COMPANION = I am a young attitude, polite, considerate 62 year old male, divorced, and conservative. I have 2 children, a professional attitude, straight as and arrow. and am laid back easy going budget traveler.. My hobbies and interest are, investing, gardening, reading, wood construction, travel, sight seeing, discussion, computers, and real-estate. I also am witty and like to joke around. I don't have any pets, and am not fond of sports or status seekers. I have owned my own ranch type home for 25 years, I drink conservatively at social gatherings only, but can do without. I am non- denominational, not a smoker and *** PREFER *** a non - smoker. I am seeking a travel companion because it's much cheaper, and much safer.. Why just to have someone to share my travel experience with is wonderful. When I travel I try not to be identified as a tourist. In this day and age you're much better off doing it this way. I wear jeans or nice worn clothes, maybe have a camera that will fit in my pocket. My bibles are the Lonely Planet type travel guidebooks. I try to eat in local family restaurants, and ride the local trains, subways, and buses, or walk. If I've had a rough exciting long day, then it's the taxis. I am not and exercise enthusiast, I only walk when I want to go somewhere or sight see. I will buy local tours at times. If my companion wishes to go see something that I am not at all interested in , it's OK - even if they pursue their own interest alone for hours, or even days. Oh yes, I snore, try to take my shower in early evening, love to have a companion to have early breakfast with, and talk about the day ahead of us. Also, at night, when I notice my companion is ready to sleep, I stop reading, and I turn off the bed light and tell them good night, see you in the morning. Joe broutek@worldnet.att.net

0413 8-26 Scottsdale, AZ -- Arizona - My name is Lynne, I'm in my 70s, married to the same man for over 53 years, have 2 grown children and 1 grandson--married just last week. I have had published 11 children's books, I am acting in mainting a support group for people suffering from Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) in my area, I love traveling though can't afford to do it as much as I did when my daughter worked for an airline!! Used to love camping and hiking and walking the beach of Oregon (lived there 35 years ago) but a few creaky bones makes it a little harder to do. Getting down into a sleeping bag in a tent isn't my idea of fun anymore. I got this computer for my birthday in June, and have almost gone crazy learning to use it, but I'm beginning to get the hang of it, after AOL crashed on me twice. It's a challenge, and it's highly addictive--that much I've learned. Would love to hear from someone--your age or sex or where you live doesn't make any difference. I'm not looking for romance! (I have a loving husband that I'm sorta used to :-) (that is a smile I just learned.) I'm just looking for friendship, an exchange of ideas, and a broadening of my world instead of just my derriere! 0372 8-11 California --- Hi, I'm 54 and no longer work as an Administration Assistant at a defense facility because of down-sizing and the company moving out of state. Actually, since I no longer work I enjoy this part of my life. I love to travel all over this beautiful country of ours, meeting new people, boating, fishing, playing the organ, volunteering at a local hospital, playing with my 7 grandchildren, cook, play cards (spades) keno machines, old Rock N Roll, music of the 70's (Eagles, Credence, 3 Dog Night, Doobies) and country music (Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr. Wynonna Judd, Kris Kristoferson and Waylon Jennings) interested in metaphysical subjects (have had a couple of interesting experiences). I would love to receive email and will answer all. E-mail Barbara fireman@primenet.com

0370 8-10 Sacramento, CA I would like to e-mail with other graphic designers or people
interested in graphics. I am 69 and still freelancing. My wife and I have been married 49 years and we both enjoy
arts & crafts of all kinds. We collect chinahead dolls and we hook rugs. We published a hardbound book on china dolls back
in 1983. I created my first web site a few months ago and I must confess it was a very modest attempet at same. It is very
frustrating for a print graphics person up in years to grasp that technology. I will try and do better on my update in the near future.
My web site address is: www.ns.net/users/kborger/ E-mail Ken and Mona Borger kborger@ns.net Hope to hear from some of you.
0368 8-10 Alpena, MI - Hi I am a young senior at heart. My hobbies are the, traveling or reading about various places, gardening, outdoor life, boating, fishing, historical sites of interest. Not interested in anything to do with being a house frau. Been there done that! Recently windowed missing the companionship of my mate. Love my computer and the Internet. E-mail Dolores Serylo dserylo@northland.lib.mi.us
0367 8-10 KY -- Hi...I just found this site and it peaked my interest. I am a 56 year old female that had decided everyone on the internet was between 9 and 49 years old.
In the Spring and Summer my greatest interest is flower gardening and in the Fall and Winter it is ice hockey.(not to play but to attend and watch)
I have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren with number 7 due on Christmas Eve.
I would love to hear from you. E-mail Nancy Bee turn@theonramp.net
0366 8-9 San Diego, CA -- I am originally from England, however, I have been the States for 27 years, and LOVE IT! I am also NanaDu, to my two grandchildren, from my 32 yr old daughter. I work with Developmentally Challenged Adults, and their ABILITIES are quite incredible and inspirational, in observing their determination and desire.
Due to my minimum one year commitment in this field, I do not get out much. My schedule is often times unpredictable, making it difficult to keep outside appointments. So a PEN PAL - preferably Male. Age & activity not as important as honesty and credibility.
Prior to this involvement, I have owned several businesses, and dabbled in Real Estate. Of the many things I have been successful in, Marriage has not proven to be one of them. Sadly, I must admit. As having a soul mate was always my dream and disire. Ho well, Never too late!! I love all kinds music and most musical instruments
Not affiliated with any organized religion, however, I do follow Spiritual Concepts. Sober since 1980. Love a good joke, some blue ok. (Not of the kinky persuasion) Apt to break out in verse, can't sing a note (but try anyway). Love to watch animals, birds, fish, etc. Law fascinates me, as does the volumes of information available on the internet. Due to light sensitivity, night driving has become difficult, and therefore the Internet is my ACCESS to the outside world!!!! So drop me a line. Take Care. Limey British848@aol.com

0356 8-8 -- WARNING -- To all of you ladies out there looking for male pen pals. Beware of a guy from Arizona who is looking for a lady, to love him. He really wants lots of ladies and is not honest about what he tells you. Lots of darlin's and love ya's. But of course that is only the tip of the iceberg. There are several of us, at least, who found him out through a email mix-up. Some of us were already pen pals. He has had his email address changed as a result, but from my investigation I have found he has had many email addresses and perhaps still does. Betty betty@pacbell.net

0350 8-5 Schertz, TX - St. Gertrude's Academy (Ridgely, MD); Would like to hear
from anyone who attended between Sept 1937 & June 1945.
I really hate it that I cannot find old school chums
because they have married/changed their names. I grew up in
Maryland (nee Lois Bradbury) married a serviceman,
travelled, settled in Texas after being widowed (many years
ago), earned 2 degrees, worked for the Public schools, and
retired two years ago. I have 4 children, 3 grand-children,
two cats & two box-turtles (low-maintenance). I do a bit of
travelling, reading, x-c skiing, biking & hiking; also some
gardening/yard work. I usually keep the bird-feeders filled
so the little fellows can entertain me while I have my
morning coffee. I'm a bit of a news hound and a terrible
procrastinator; currently wall-papering my kitchen & saving
some half-finished projects for a day when I need something
to do. Life is good. Would enjoy hearing from most people
(even if they didn't attend SGA). E-mail Lois lneuville@express-news.net

0329 7-31 Houston, TX -- Before we reached our fifties.. we frequently complained - to ourselves and to everybody else - that we never had had enough time to do all the significant things in our lives, for us and for all we loved. Now that we have gone past our fifties and are moving on to our sixties, seventies and further up... we are eventually becoming disconnected and jettisoned into the dreadful realm of oblivion where solitude, seclusion, inactivity, aging illness and disgrace rule our lives. Are we being coldly discarded by the the society that we were born into, grew up in it, struggled in it and at times risked our lives and sacrificed our
personal happiness and well being in raising it, nurturing it, defending it and making it strong and prosperous?
Let's not demand our dear society to change its attitude towards us, even
though we do possess our legitimate claims to it, since there are readily available ways for us to take the initiative ourselves in a massive effort aiming at reconnecting ourselves to our own world with our own hands our own means and our unshakable determination to change the destiny of our generation and that of those younger generations moving up the common path of time.
Give these lines some thoughts, and whenever you realize where you are exactly at this very point of your life, open your e-mail editor and simply write "reconnect me to society" and send to me : Le Thoi tutorial@webcom.com

0323 Michigan -- Hello out there!!
Let me introduce myself, my name is Irma, I live in Dearborn Hgts,
Michigan near Detroit, the Motor City. I'm 65 and planning to retire
soon so I was interested in the nightly news on NBC where Tom Brokow had
Lee Iocacco on regarding retirement. Quoting L.I. "Retirement is
boring!" It that how you feel??? I'd like to hear your opinions.
My opinion is that even thou he probably does many good things like
supporting the Diabetes Association. I get the feeling it is in name
only. I wonder if he has ever gone out to pass out pamphlets at there
sponsored programs, etc.
Retirement Boring!! I am offended by that statement. Has he tried to
something new? Learn about something he did not know before or roll up
his sleeves and serve at a soup kitchen or get involved with children
that needed help reading or helped the handicapped or helped senior
citizens.
That's right, Mr. I.; money is not everything, and I'm sure you have
your charties that you contribute to, but just once in a while roll up
you sleeves and help someone and learn something new - the world needs
people that are go getters like you to channel efforts in new
directions.
I did not mean to get up on a soapbox - but I'm looking forward to
retirement and do some of the things that I could only read about before
I was widowed or had the extra time to explore.
Thanks for listening and let me hear from all of you. E-mail Irma J. Swantner turtling@dhol.com

0315 7-27 Old Age -- Some of my thoughts on ageing. First off--it's something that's going
to happen to all of us if we don't die young. Having that sage
statement out of the way I do have some observations about it. I will
be 80 in November. I don't know whether I feel young or old as I don't
know how I should feel at 80. I like to think that I matured fairly
well and I truly don't mind being almmost 80. I am very fortunate that
my health is very good and i am very grateful for that. We bought a
computer a few years ago and it has changed my life. I fell in love
with it and still spend several houurs a day playing with it. I like
going into chats and telling how old I am. Everyone is usually
surprised and of course it's an ego trip for me but I see nothing wrong
with that.
To peple who are getting old but still younger than I am I have a little
advice to offer. Don't worry about your age. Do everything possible to
keep healthy. Spend very little time feeling sorry for yourself no
matter what the circumstance. It will only aggravate a bad situation.
Find hobbies. Doesn't much matter what just something you are
interested in. Try to be an optimist--remember the old bromide--when
life hands you a lemon make lemonade!
Take things one day at a time. I truly enjoy my life. I realise a that
you give up some things and gain others as you grow old.
Now my main and probably only regret is this--that I won't be around for
too many more years and that does sadden me a little. Technology is
changing so fast and things are happening that we didn't dream about
even ten years ago and I won't be here to see them develop! But I can
still see and be amazed at what's here now. Well this is enough
preaching for this old lady. I love Email and if anyone would like to
write me, Iris Ashley, the address is irisa@flash.net

I am a native from Missouri. Graduated in 1959. I am 56 years old, remarried my same husband in 1985 (first time in 1960). We have four children, and 3 grandsons. I am a Staff Secretary at the University of NE at Kearney Student Health Services and just love the variety. I always wanted to be a nurse - so this will keep me close to the health-related areas. I admire nurses and doctors.
I love to watch the birds and see the stars at night. Just an ol' pokie. I like to take pictures, would love to travel (to see anything!). Love music. Would love to hear from you, especially those of you with similar interests. People have told me I have "the gift of writing", so maybe I've found my niche. Please E-Mail me, Ruth Ann Behlmann (Meyer) at anniebell@usa.net Take Care!

0231 7-6 Houston, TX - Before we reached our fifties.. we frequently complained -
to ourselves and to everybody else - that we never had had
enough time to do all the significant things in our lives,
for us and for all we loved. Now that we have gone past our
fifties and are moving on to our sixties, seventies and
further up... we are eventually becoming disconnected and
jettisoned into the dreadful realm of oblivion where
solitude, seclusion, inactivity, aging illness and disgrace
rule our lives. Are we being coldly discarded by the the
society that we were born into, grew up in it,struggled in
it and at times risked our lives and sacrificed our personal
happiness and well being in raising it, nurturing it,
defending it and making it strong and prosperous?
Let's not demand our dear society to change its attitude
towards us, even though we do possess our legitimate claims
to it, since there are readily available ways for us to take
the initiative ourselves in a massive effort aiming at
reconnecting ourselves to our own world with our own hands
our own means and our unshakable determination to change
the destiny of our generation and that of those younger
generations moving up the common path of time.
Give these lines some thoughts, and whenever you realize
where you are exactly at this very point of your life, open
your e-mail editor and simply write "reconnect me to society"

0221 New Orleans, LA - SEEKING BUDGET TRAVEL BUDDY - Hello everyone- I live in the NEW ORLEANS AREA, am a young attitude 62 year old male, divorced 20 years, conservative, have 2 children, and straight as and arrow. I have a professional attitude, and am a laid back easy going budget traveller. My hobbies and interest are, investing, gardening, reading, wood construction, travel, sight seeing, discussion, computers, and real estate. I also am witty and like to joke around. I do not have pets, and am not fond of sports.. I have owned my own ranch type home for 25 years, I drink conservatively at social gatherings only, but can do without - am non- denominational. I am not a smoker and ** PREFER ** a companion who doesn't smoke.
The reasons I am seeking a travel companion is that it’s much cheaper, much safer, and not as lonely when traveling. Just to have someone to share my travel experience with, is wonderful. I am primarily seeking a male travel companion because I personally can relax more in my travels. I tend to be overly concerned when I am with a female. Also, I can usually find female companionship at my destination if I so choose. When I travel, rather then choose a place ahead of time, I think about the places I would like to travel to in this world. I then wait for bargains on any one of the places, (tour, airfare, hotels, etc.), then I buy. I am rather knowledgeable about travel and travel bargains.
I am not particularly fond of cruises, but if it's a great outstanding bargain, I might go, but I don't get that feeling of anticipation - if you know what I mean. I have been on four. For one thing dancing is OK, but I don't go out of my way to do it. I can do all the dancing, partying, and relaxation I want right here in New Orleans. When I travel I try not to be identified as a tourist. In this day and age you’re much better off doing it this way. I wear jeans or nice worn clothes, maybe have a camera that will fit in my pocket. My bibles are the Lonely Planet type travel guidebooks.
I try to eat in local family restaurants, and ride the local trains, subways, and buses, or walk. If I’ve had a rough exciting long day, then it’s the taxes. I am not & exercise enthusiast. I will buy local tours at times. If my companion wishes to go see something that I am not at all interested in , it’s OK if he pursues his own interest alone for hours, or even days. I read once that, the way to guarantee a lousy vacation is to pick the wrong travel partner. I do pray that in this description of myself as a traveller - that you don’t get the idea that I am inflexible. Everything that I have mentioned is negotiable. I only want to let you know something about myself, so that it would help both of us to have a great trip..
Oh yes, I snore, try to take my shower in early night, love to have a companion to have early breakfast with, and when I notice my companion is ready to sleep, I stop reading, and I turn off the bed light. Please e-mail me and let’s talk about travel. Sincerely. E-mail Joseph broutek@worldnet.att.net

I love reading and investing, but my latest passion is playing the slots at Shreveport. As a matter of fact, I just won two jackpots recently. If any of you out there can think of a place for me, please let me know. Thanks. E-mail Madeline Paperno mpaperno@msn.com

0159 San Diego, CA -- I sent e-mail to this site but I guess that was not the way to post e-mail. So I will try it this way. Anyway, I am 72
years of age and live in San Diego,Ca. One good place to live.
I move from Texas way back in 1963 to San Diego because of the
good weather. I have been in computers long before these things we are using were called computers. I can't seem to get away from them
although I am retired.
I like to talk to people but also like to look them in the
eyes when I talk to them. I don't know who might be on the
other end. I did read some of the e-mail so all of you from
Texas let me hear from you. My daughter told me that we would have to get a passport to return to Texas as it was a "foren country". I was raised at Buckner Orphans Home in Dallas so if any of you who lived at the Orphans Home drop me some email. My name was Bill Horn when I lived there but changed it to Bill Fishburn after I left the home. Fishburn was my mothers maiden name. Brandy was my real name, everhard was a shipmate who died in ww2. I have been in the computer field for as
long as I can remember. I worked on main frame computers at a bank.
I had to retire because of a health problem. But it seems that I can't
get away from computers. My daughter tells me to set down and stop
working so much. I tell her that if we stop it will be all over. I will
turn into a fat old man. I don't get on the computer to talk as much as
other people may. I like to look at a person when I talk to them. I
don't know what is on the other end of the line,it is the same for you.
If you want to talk drop me a line. my interests are anything that will
make me think. E- mail Bill Fishburn BANDYEVERHARD@worldnet.att.net

(except blue grass and jazz)a good joke and a good time.. E-mail Dawn dawnbreak@usa.net
0157 My husband (52) is retired, but I (also 52) am not as yet. I'm having a difficut time making up my mind to "take the plunge." I'd love to have some advice from retirees. Some of the many questions that are running around in my mind constantly are: How long ago did you retire? At what age? (I may be too young to retire.) Would you wait until you were older to retire if you had it to do over again, or would you retire younger? How did you make your decision to retire? Do you regret it? Why, or why not? Do you have enough money? Do you still have to work (like a couple of hours at McDonalds)? Do you like it? Did you sell your house and move somewhere else? Someplace warm/cold? Someplace with no yard/big yard to take care of? Are you glad you did? Did you plan to travel? Now that you are retired, can you afford to travel the way you had planned? Where have you gone/where are you planning to go? What are you doing to "keep busy?" Is it fulfilling? Is it expensive? What did you read, who did you talk to in helping make your decision to retire? What sources of information do you know of that help make life easier, less expensive, more fun, etc. for retirees. Is retirement what you expected? Better? Worse? What did you expect? What would you do differently if you had it to do over again?
Anyway, you get the idea. I'm looking for some help FAST so that I will stop vacillating, make a decision, and get on with it. I will greatly appreciate anything you can tell me, and will respond as soon as I get your message. Please E-mail Gail jgreen8@osf1.gmu.edu

US). But- have a great summer- your friend in FL. E-mail Walt vidolover@worldnet.att.net

0145 KY -- I live in the western part of Kentucky and on the Ohio River. I'm relatively new to this and having fun with it and think I would enjoy a variety of pen pals from all over to share thoughts, experiences, etc. I am a widow (one of many) and have lots of things I
like to do. Traveling is one, and am planning a trip to Mexico City in a couple of weeks as I have a daughter and family there. Have been to many of the Central American countries (my daughter was in the PeaceCorps in Honduras for 3 yrs.), also to Spain and Portugal (my son was in Spain), but my favorite country thus far is Sotland, perhaps because I am of
Scottish ancestory (Macrae). We have a community theatre in my town and I have appeared on stage many times over the years, mostly comedies (my favorite). We just closed "Playing Doctor", in which my character stripped to her slip on stage and then went
on to "flip off her hair", showing a bald head (please know that I was wearing a bald cap, I do have a full head of strawberry blong hair!!) I like to fool with my flower beds (but don't mow my own grass) and sit on the deck in the late summer afternoons and enjoy the beauty along with a scotch and soda!! I've already talked too much, but there's just so much to say! Hope I've hit somebody's button who would like to get acquainted via email. Write me, Nita Cowger NitaC@webtv.net

retire inabout two more years. We are thinking of purchasing
a motor home, as my wife likes to travel and meet new
people. We have read up a little on motor homes, and my
soninlaw's parents have been doing it for about five
years now. They been giving us some pointers, and this
summer we hope to rent one for a few weeks to see if we
would really like it. If any one has any experience with
motor homes and would like to share them, we would ap-
preciate any suggestion's you could offer, any advice at all,
wheather good or bad, let us be the judge. We have 3 child-
ren and we figured we would travel from November to May,then

0138 Bethpage, NY -- We are searching for a place to retire. A small town where there are not too many traffic lights. It must be green, hilly (not flat area) with gentle four
seasons. No great snow falls nor hot and humid. A great active Library is a must. A Town Square or Plaza with a great 4th of July Parade would be great with down to earth folks.
Lakes, river or water falls near would be nice but not mandatory. Cosco, Walmart or KMart wouldn't hurt being in driving distance. Low taxes and Homes for sale "in town" walking distance to everything. Real Estate prices not out of sight of a workin RN. It may appear hard to find this place but maybe some Senior knows of what I am seeking. Any suggestions and information on where to search would be greatly appreciated. I have two years before I will be retired at 65 from school nursing. Thank you. E-mail Elizabeth Gackowski RN emgrn@ix.netcom.com

0134 Sealy, TX -- I noticed after reading the Senior-Site that it also welcomes caregivers of Seniors. I was a caregiver for the last 15 years to my Mother who passed away in 1995 at the age of 93. Perhaps some of you caregivers would like to have a willing ear to bend, share some experiences, or just communicate about other interests from time to time. No matter how rewarding and fulfilling caregiving is, one needs to take time out for other interests, or often just to touch the rest of the world. Believe me, I know what it takes to do caregiving on a day to day basis, and no matter how rewarding and fulfilling it may be, one needs to take the time for an outlet in other areas now and then. Please let me know if I may be of help in listening and sharing. I am 54 years old, and have been looking new interests to fill my time. At the moment, I love gardening, e-mailing, antiques, furniture refinishing, my dear husband of 34 years, two sons, and my gorgeous granddaughter. I would love to hear from you. 0131 KS -- Hope I do this right, feel like a little child learning something for the first time. I just got interested in PC and really not knowning much about them I went ahead and got set up for e-mail etc. Hope everyone will give me time I'm not a fast learner when it comes to PC's. I'm married to a very wonderful man for 22 yrs. Between us we have 9 children, 9 grandchildren 10 due in Nov. Then this next few weeks we real be great grandparents and then again in Aug. We don't believe in the word step or half were all a family and we treat each other the same. My husband still works and will till the day he drops dead because he would go crazy without something to really keep him busy. Even though we have most of our children close we spend alot of time with our grandkids. I don't work, mostly keep house and watch some of our grandchildren from time to time. My husband is almost 59 and I'm 45 but was disabled due to an accident 4 or 5 years ago so can no longer work!
Were just down to earth people enjoy our time together and our family. We live each day with each other to the fullest. I love the computer but at times it really stress;s me out because I am so stuip at it, some times it does get the best of me. Hope if I get e-mail back I know how to do it and I will answer back because I love to visit, and write to people, so if you write and I don't answer it will not be due to humane error but rather computer error which would be really humane error because it'll mean I did something I was not suppose to. Wish me luck I would like to think that I'm smarter than a machine, but than there's times I wonder. I'll stop for now and see if I can do this first, before I go on. Thank you for bearing with me. 0100 Silver Spring, MD - And a happy May 14 to whomever! My wife and I are retired...
my wife as a teaching aide, and me as a mainframe computer
programmer. We spend our time visiting (or being visited by)
our six grandchildren(all boys!)scattered all over from New

of Maryland, but are having difficulty agreeing on even a
general locale; my wife does not like extreme heat and I've
had my fill of bitter cold and snow. She speaks, too, of
operating a B&B on a part-time basis, but I feel that it's
far too much work (we're in our 60s) and I want no part of
it. Oh well. Nevertheless, hello to all of you out there in

0068 SOLO-NET - This message is to introduce a new e-mail network for single senior citizens who are outdoor and camping enthusiasts. The network, called SOLO-NET is geared primarily to widow, widower and single by choice.
The SOLO Network is a "subscription only" electronic network composed of senior adult camping and Recreational Vehicle enthusiasts who have access to Internet e-mail. SOLO-Net is a private
e-mail forum, for exchanging information, gossip, upcoming events, 'pot-luck' ideas, favorite campgrounds, or any and everything in good taste of general interest to "subscribers" of the Network. Thus, the Network works like an open forum -- a way of sharing ideas and interesting conversation just like "Happy Hour" at a campout -- and for support of friends and acquaintances who travel alone.
Subscription to SOLO-Net is FREE..! Subscriptions are limited to any single adult individual who is a verifiable member in good standing of any group whose membership is specifically restricted to widows, widowers, and single by choice. Requiring that potential subscribers be a member of an organization dedicated to serving senior single is the only way presently of verifying that a prospective subscriber shares our interests.
SOLO-Net operates as a separate and independent network not affiliated with any other club or organization (except as required by our ListServer - see below).
In operation, a 'subscriber' sends an ordinary e-mail message to the SOLO-Net address (to be provided). Messages addressed to the SOLO-Net are automatically re-distributed to all subscribers. Replies to messages are similarly re-distributed to all subscribers. In this way, the
network is like an 'open forum' where everyone gets a copy of all messages and replies and can join in on any discussion or add her/his "$.02 cents"....
Subscription to SOLO-Net is FREE....! Once subscribed there is nothing special that one has to do to participate - no additional software or technique is required. Just send ordinary e-mail addressed
to the special LOA-Net address which will be provided to subscribers.
There are literally thousands of private networks existing on the Internet - all ran by sophisticated hardware/software called a 'List Server'. Most Internet List Servers are operated by Universities
and some Government agencies - usually free of charge.
I'm very happy to announce that SOLO-Net is being hosted by St. Johns University, (Jamaica, NYC) FREE of charge...! The University does not monitor messages nor do they participate in any
way with an electronic network designated as "private". They will however, act as a "last resort" when problems exist with respect to the operation of the network which cannot be resolved by the network administrator.
We are now accepting subscriptions to SOLO-Net. If you are a senior single adult and would like to join us would you please send an e-mail to Russell U. Simmions - geezer@dnai.com
PLEASE STATE THAT YOU ARE, (1) Single, (2) You are a member in good standing of a singles only RV or camping club or an organization specifically for widows, widowers or single by choice, (3) You will not disclose names/addresses of subscribers to anyone outside the LOA-Net, (4) You understand that commercial advertising is not permitted, (5) foul and/or abusive language absolutely will not be tolerated.

0062 Hendersonville, TN -- Hi Everyone!

time on the internet. I found this website and enjoy the
wisdom and maturity of seniors, plus I think there is more fun
here than on most other websites I've seen...so if I can't be

0061 Music is the MUST in my life - I have been retired from my job of 20 years (for a few years, now) and just recently purchased a computer. I have two grown children (of which I am very proud) along with three step-children and 8 grandchildren. I have many interests and on the top of the list is reading (mostly non-fiction). Music is a must in my life as well and I like everything from classical to country. I have collections of a few things, don"t ask me how or why that got started. The only one I am really sure about was my collection of chickens . I think that must go back to my days growing up in Kansas and visiting my grandmothers farm. I didn't even like those chickens then but they have some how crept into my life, now. I was from a small town in Kansas and moved to the big city of Chicago when I was a teenager. I don't mind living back in a small town (as long as I can get my jolt of the big city life every once in awhile). I would like to meet some new friends through this wonderfu! l E-mail and share ideas, thoughts, etc. I am looking forward to your "visit". E-mail Pat Ainley - gmboaty@mich.coml

0054 Hi, I'm currently trying to recover from two nasty accidents. Slow going, but I'll make it. I do ALL my socializing online. I'm a VERY young 59 (no one believes me, but I think they
lie!) {VBG} I love music, reading, surfing the net, chatting online, flowers, needlework of all types, I WAS (and will be again) a hiker, backpaker, walker, sailer (sailboats and power), good
and meaningful conversation as the way I deal with anything is thru chat! I have a beautiful black persian, Huggles, who is the joy of my life. She's a character! A friend airlifted her to me out of Florida up here to Oregon. The friend is from online and has never met me!!! She has sent other lovely gifts to be sure my quality of life is good while I heal!! I have two kids in their 30s. One is married and is a professional artist. The other raises rare Arabian horses and works in sales. I rarely see them. Sigh.
I live up here in a "treehouse" in a burb out of Portland, Oregon. It's beautiful, and I have baby roses and azaleas all over my deck to keep me happy. I am surrounded by great maple trees. I LOVE photography and cannot wait to get better equipment!! I will be restarting my home-based business when I can tolerate it more (OR find clientele again!). Hope to hear from some of you. I'll warn you, I'm very tolerant of everything except intolerance. I'm a moderate: I'm fiscally conservative but socially liberal. I love to try to figure out the answers to life and its problems. I must always understand something before I can relax with it whatever it is. This makes me a gabber. My background is medicine, but I went back to the univeresity in the 80s and got the equivalent of the MBA in management particularly of small businesses, but I also have a FULL-service secretarial business which includes copy editing for writers. I want to get going in design and cards, but that takes MONEY which I don't have currently. Sigh! Write soon. E-mail Sunny - lindsay9@teleport.com
