I question the validity of this hysterical rhetoric. I challenge this person to substantiate his claims with verifiable facts.
Deregulation of the trucking, airline and telephone industries with it's attendant increased competition has resulted in substantial reductions in cost for almost everyone. This is a fact. I know of no reason why reduced regulation and increased competition should not result in equally large reductions in the cost of power.
Stating that only large manufacturing companies will receive decreases in cost is unsubstantiated. Even if this developed to be true, competition would result in the price of their products declining to reflect the reduced cost. The consumer gains by increased competition. Only the public utility monopolies gain by reduced competition.
