Subject: Letter to the President -- Comments on Myron Stolaroff's letter.
As I read your letter I was amazed that you seem to find one of the most important things the president could do would be to supply clean needles to drug users.
Wouldn't it be better if the economy could be so improved enough so that it would not be necessary for mothers to have to go to work to augment the family income. Children need at least one parent focusing on their needs and having the time to teach morals, loyalty and consideration.
Of course we had crime in the good old days but there would be less today if more mothers were at home watching over their children and being there when they came in from school. When parents are around more they know their children and what they are up to better. Mothers who are not too tired to listen to what the kids have to contribute to the family would make a contribution to a saner country. We are living in a very selfish self-centered time.
