Bait and Switch?????

Last September, I responded to a network TV ad by an outfit called Select Quote Insurance Services. After a few questions about my lifestyle and general health, they offered me a great rate on a 20-year level term life insurance policy. I filled out the application, sent them two months' premiums. Then began a series of time-wasting hassles. *Finally*, after about eight hassle-filled months, they informed me that information in my VA medical records caused the company, Protective Life Insurance, to *double* the offered rate. I figured maybe I was dying, but my doctor says he can find nothing in my records that might justify such an increase. So far, I have been trying for four months to find out from Protective Life why it increased the rate. The company flatly refuses to tell me. A company rep insists he has sent *three* letters with the information to my doctor. My doctor insists he has not received them. I'm making plans to go to wr, but only if I find others who've had the same kind of experience with this, or other insurance companies. If there are many of us, it would suggest the possibilty of a little bait and switch. Question: Has anyone out there had anything similar happen. If so, please email me at barnhill@ptdprolog.net; I'll keep it secret until you tell me otherwise. Thanks.
