Could Someone Please Help

I would like to know why it is so difficult in this country for a family to use the facilities and laws available to protect a senior citizen who is a victim of abuse if he "appears to be in his senses" but could actually be a victim who is afraid to speak up against his so-called caretakers. He is being kept in solitary confinment in his home, disallowed to communicate with his family both here and in this nativeland. He can communicate with some friends with the approval of his caretakers occasionally through writing or by phone, but rarely in person. He is being financially drained and being made to sign over all his assets to these people "out of love and affection." This family has used all possible devious techniques to get themselves established in this country. They have also taken everything over in his native land or had him sell off those properties. They are using the laws of this country to their greatest benefit and harassing us, while we family members, cannot do anything except take legal action and go broke.

Our father has been under the control of this family for the past 10 years. Every means we are trying to protect him have been used as excuses to say we are harassing them. They have gone as far as making our father get a retraining order against us which prevents us from making any kind of contact with him, by phone or in person. We are allowed to write to him or speak to him on the phone if he initiates the phone call. He is undoubtedly not allowed to call us because he never called me since they entered his home. We know his letters are intercepted because he doesn't reply to letters from any relatives in his nativeland so it is useless for us to write. We are pulling our hair trying to figure out how to have our 83-year-old father return to his family so that we can spend his last years with him. He used to be a family man and loved being with his grandchildren. But now, with the restraining order on our heads because we tried to get the Adult Protective Services and the Local Police go over to check on his welfare, we are being forced to mourn a father who is alive and face the possibility of never being able to say "Good-Bye" when he departs this earthly abode. The judge didn't even care to hear everything we had to say or listen to any witnesses before he ruled on the restraining order.

After the verdict was given, I noticed our father on the verge of tears and he was quickly whisked away. I am personally under a lot of emotional distress and cannot figure out what else I can do to get my father back and share with him the information that he is going to be a great-grand father next month. He was not allowed to get introduced to his grandson-in-law 4 years ago or attend the wedding of his first grand-daughter.

Do we have any other options left to explore that won't cost us an arm and leg to rescue our father who even went as far as perjurying himself in the court hearings and speak on behalf of his care takers? I attempted to speak to our father before the restraining order was imposed and got reported to the local police by the woman who made false allegations that I "threatened her" when all I did was attempt to beg with our father to return to his family. I feel such atrocities against elders should be stopped and the families should be given better power to protect and rescue elders from defrauders. What do your readers have to say about this situation? Any suggestions?
