My friend has been told that he is almost completely deaf. He is a hard worker and has worked in a machine shop environment all his life. He has a very hard time hearing and has to rely on reading lips alot. People (including family) make fun of him because he doesn't understand what they said. He also has two children to support so, when they told him how much the hearing aids would cost, he decided not to do anything about it. Is there an assistance program out there that would allow him to pay it out longer than six months (which is what they told him at the hearing aid place)? Is there any government agencies that can help?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. There is no way he can pay $4500 over six months and still be able to pay bills and take care of his kids. I don't think the majority of us could do that. HELP!!!
