YOUR MAJOR SOURCE OF HELP! They provide a clearing house for senior citizen services. The agencies in turn make referrals to supportive services which offer help with transportation, information/referral, home-delivered meals, legal information, and other services.
- Older American Act -- the federal law enacted to assist seniors. The act is divided by titles as follows:
- Title I -- Declaration of Objective
- Title II -- Administration on Aging
- Title III -- Grants for State and Community Programs on Aging
- Title III B -- Supportive Services -- information & referral, in-home services, legal services, linkages, ombudsman services, outreach, respite care, transportation PLUS:
- Title III C -- Nutritional Services - congregate meals, home delivered meals
- Title IV -- Training, Research, and Discretionary Projects
- Title V -- Senior Community Service Employment Program
- Title VI -- Grants to Native Americans
- Help
Obtaining Drugs for Senior Citizens -- possible lower cost methods.
