Because endometrial cancer is such a devastating
condition, it\'s important to know the signs and symptoms and what you
can do to catch endometrial cancer in the earliest stages, when
treatment is most effective.
Signs of endometrial cancer include abnormal uterine bleeding, abnormal
menstrual periods, lower abdominal pain and cramping, and vaginal
discharge in postmenopausal women. If you experience these symptoms,
it\'s very important that you seek the help of a medical professional.
If you have these symptoms, your doctor will screen you for endometrial
cancer.
This diagnosis process will include a physical exam and/or a
uterine ultrasound. A sampling of the endometrial lining may also be
taken and observed under microscope. If cancer is found, the doctor
will then grade how far along the cancer has progressed.
There are four stages of endometrial cancer, with each stage having its
own sub stages. If you are diagnosed with endometrial cancer, the
treatment method used to treat you will largely depend on what stage of
the cancer you have.
There are four main types of treatment for endometrial cancer. These
treatments include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and hormone
therapy. Oftentimes more than one type of therapy will be used to treat
a patient for endometrial cancer.
If you are diagnosed with endometrial cancer, your doctor will discuss
your treatment options and which treatment solution will be best for
you.
