Whether you are currently fighting this deadly disease, a friend
or family member of anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, anyone
interested in curing this disease, or a survivor, this walk is a
fabulous chance to meet others and participate in an experience unlike
any other. Over the designated summer weekend, participants spend
a good part of the time on their feet and covering groundóover 60 miles
in only three days. Meals, shelter, and medical attention are
provided to participants, as well as opportunities to further learn
about the disease and the individuals who are fighting it.
The Breast Cancer 3-Day occurs in twelve cities throughout the
nation.
Advanced registration is required, as well as individuals
interested in volunteering their time as crewmembers. Walkers
must be over 16 years of age and in physical condition to complete the
walk. Furthermore, all walkers must have current medical
insurance and raise at least $2,200 for the Susan G. Komen
Foundation. For individuals interested on volunteering at these
events, you must be over the age of 18 and agree to be on hand in order
to provide whatever service is necessary. These individuals are
not required to walk the course and do not need to be in the physical
condition to do so. Furthermore, crewmembers are not required to
raise any funds, although they are encouraged to do so.
