SENIOR CARE FOR ALZHEIMER’S
Every time you climb the ladder of age, it surely gifts you with something or the other but for those in their forties and the ones nearing their fifties, it’s a bit of memory loss and confusion in store. I have always personally had a thought that, ”the older I get, the better I was!” but little did I ever realize the presence of a deadly and dangerous disease like Alzheimer, which is a serious threat to memory loss and forgetfulness.

It all starts with a pre-senile dementia which later progresses into Alzheimer’s disease, found very much in the in the senior citizens who are in their forties and nearing fifties. It’s our memory that is prime in the hit list of Alzheimer and it totally handicaps the victim by spoiling his thought and speech and leaving him in a helpless condition.
The very thought of the disease robs the person of his/her enthusiasm to live life and it worsens, when it comes to the relatives and friends who have no other option than to see their loved one, not recognizing them any more. But it is care and care alone that should be prime on the minds of the family members of the victim. After all, there is no other medicine that reacts better than the love, support and care of our family and friends.
For all those who are suffering from Alzheimer, “board and care” and “assisted living facilities” come to their rescue. These are very similar to nursing homes, with a little difference of an ambiance that is non institutional. In case a victim of Alzheimer is in a very critical condition with memory loss and a tendency to wander around, its dementia waiver that they shall require.
“Dementia waiver”, is not just a mere name but a signal that there are people in fact staffs who have been trained and licensed to take care of the victims suffering from the disease. The training also helps as an added advantage to help the patients remain under control.
Alzheimer is a very deadly disease, in fact a dirty one that leaves a bad scare in the minds of the victim as well as his family members. It not just leaves them physically fatigued but mentally too. But the various facilities open to victims suffering from Alzheimer is definitely a relief to them and also their family, as it gives them a ray of hope to get back to normal life. After all, it is “hope” that helps us to dream the future.
