To say it briefly, the D.O.N. is in charge of a patient’s routine medical care.
Other than the D.O.N., there are different professionals as staff to help patients in a good nursing home. There is a med nurse whose exclusive duty is to administer medications required by the patients. Therapists, both for physical and occupational therapy function within a set structure and update the doctors regarding recovery. The activity director has the responsibility of all social communication and the activities planned. The discharge after recovery and any emotional problem is taken care by the social worker.
