In response to the above and open garage doors. It seems like some people become relaxed when it comes to the largest door in their home. We all here about burlaries, vandelism, and violence to the home owners and their families because of an open garage door, year round. I've heard some people say that they live in a safe neighborhood or an upper class neighborhood...Well if I had criminal intentions those would be the neighborhoods I'd be "shopping" in looking for the unexpecting. Well, now there is a new device out there that easily hooks up in your garage, it works with the current door opener that you have, it's called the Garage Butler, it automatically "closes" your garage door if it's left open. If you want to keep it open there is a hold button...but if you forget to close it after you put it on hold, it will still close the door when it gets dark out, so you won't get caught sleeping with it open. It is available at participating ACE Hardware stores, if they don't have it ask them to order you one or call 651-442-7166 to order. Even a simple web cam can do a good job on recording a burglar, not to mention more expensive security systems. I use web cab that can detect motion. It's amazing how burglars strike whenever they see an opportunity. Now, when the vacation time is coming I took an extra step to make my home, and not only car secure. I have purchased a CD with burglar deterrent sounds, which I play every day in my apartment when I leave it for work. And I will play it non stop when I go on vacation. The sound quality is OK, nothing spectacular, but since you are listening to it through the closed door, it works great. Web site is: www.DeterrentSounds.com.
