TRAVEL TIPS FOR SENIORS
There are certain things which I would like to recommend to the seniors when they are traveling across Europe or any other country that they might going to regardless of whether they are traveling in a group, on a tour or traveling alone. These recommendations can help you have a much more pleasurable trip as they are based on experience.
Do not take suitcases with you; instead you can take a backpack. I would recommend you to get your self a back of 9" x 22" x 14" size with wheels so that when you are exhausted, you can pull it behind you instead of carrying it on your backside.
Make sure that you take a short bungee rope in order to attach a smaller bag along with the backpack. It would be preferable if you do not pack heavily as you will tire yourself easily if you do not pack light. What you will need is a pair of pants (keeping in mind the time of the year), two tops, walking shoes that are comfortable to walk in, socks and a few under wears.
If you have a problem with the stairs then I suggest that you ask for a room in the ground floor when you book a room beforehand. There are both benefits as well as drawbacks of different types and areas of the room. You may want to give this some thought. It will be better if you book yourself an accommodation near the train station if you tire easily or if you are carrying a heavy luggage. When you are planning to stay outside of the city, where you can get transportations to the city quite easily, then you will discover that not only are the accommodations quieter with few stairs but the rooms are also bigger and cheaper.
Always remember to ask for discounts for seniors wherever you go. Usually this is applicable to railways, airlines, buses, and ferries, shipping lines, some concert halls and museums. Now is a great opportunity to show off you gray or white hair. Trust me, you can save quite a lot if you are on a two or three weeks’ vacation.
Are you planning to take a camera with you? Well, make sure that you know how to use it before the end of the vacation! It is not wise to buy a camera at the airport before your flight takes off. Instead of watching the scenery, you will use up more time trying to figure out how it works.
