seniors travel organization Reply to this Comment

hello, sometime back, my wife and i met a couple while on vacation. they told us of an organization they belonged to for seniors where one could join for a nominal fee. you would agree to open your home for overnight guests (of the organization) and you would be able to stay in other members' homes thruout the US and europe. cost per night, i believe was $15 which was to include breakfast. we've lost contact with this couple and would like to learn more about this. i guess you could say we're having a senior moment since we can't remember the name, but thought it was something like evergreen??? is anyone out there aware of this organization? if not, any suggestions as to how we might find it's name? thanx for your time. mike

Yes, Evergreen is a club. Another is Affordable Travel Club, which I belong to. i think they are very much the same. ATC has a web page - I assume Evergreen does also.

I recently went on a fun day trip that was run by Jazd Up Productions (845) 735-7882. It was a 4 hour event with an hour open bar, great food and entertainment. I wouuld encourage anyone living close to give it a try! By the way it was only $34.00 per person plus our group got free luncheons because we brought a bus full.

Retired teachers especially welcomed. I live in the area of Philadelphia PA called Fishtown (riverward, blue-collar). I have a furnished apartment in the rear of my home that I rent out ($30. per night - $5. each additional person per.) to +aged- adults for short visits to historic Phila. - no more than 3-4 days, "Considerate" pets are permitted ( I have a yellow Lab). Non-smokers only. Twin bed in unit but blow-up double available. Handicapped accessible. Renting beginning Feb. 1, 2006. Continental breakfast available for cost. No web site to access, but can arrange for visit to preview by sending email to above address. You won't be disappointed.
