BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH Reply to this Comment

I recently had to visit this so called "Rehab" Facility last Friday night. My mom was going to be admitted after her being released from her hospital stay. Well to much of her surprise it was not at all like everyone talked to her about. The Nursing staff was very Nasty and made her feel incompetant and minimallly insane... She told them that she had changed her mind about her getting rehab treatment for her enphasemia breathing problems and she wanted to be picked up by me, her daughter. She wanted to use the phone so she could call me, after an hour of them playing phone tag with her and my cell which never has a problem with reception or incoming calls, she finally reached me in a panic.. I had to leave work and come to get her to find her outside on the front bench in 30 degree weather, only wearing her night gown, w/ no coat or blanket which should have been offered to her. I am writing this letter to give you a heads up that with my help everyone will be notified on what a poor and low maintenance staff you have on there. And I will make it my lifes endeavour to make all your staff be fired if anything , even a cold/flu should be diagnosed about my mom.

mom's stay at rose garden Reply to this Comment

I am very upset with the treatment my mom recieved at rose garden nursing home?rehab. We were told the facility was great but my mom left after 3 hrs. She was so afraid that she stood outside in the freezing cold with only her night gown on and was never even asked if she wanted a blanket. The staff also did not call her dr. to tell him she was having a problem.. Very disappointing hospital. Would not reccommend it to anyone and will make other complaints.

i dont feel anyone should be treated in this matter, as for it being my Mom makes me even more angry. Please oversee the Nursing Staff for I think there should be a over view on them all.

Nightmare at Skyline Reply to this Comment

My mother was a resident at Skyline Healthcare in San Jose, CA. During her stay there Money,clothing and furniture came up missing. We brought her home on Dec 1,2005 and someone from that facility called Adult Protective Services on her being removed without a discharge. At this point I can't seem to get a call back from any of Skylines Staff to explain Why they are Harrassing My mother. All she wants to do is live out the rest of her life in the peace and quite of her own home. BEWARE OF SKYLINE!!!

I really wasn't looking forward to my visit at Georgetown Manor. That changed! People were smiling, young people playing music and everybody was busy taking care of somebody.. and happy doing their work. Thank you for caring about our seniors. Thank you for making a difference in people's lives. You're a very good example to this old counry boy. Jim

retirement facilities not always good Reply to this Comment

If you are planning on moving to a retirement facilitiy, do your research. There are marketers who will tell you anything to get you in to their building. One I am familiar with told perspective residents that there would be medical help and they would be checked on often. The medical help was only for the assisted living floor, not the independent floors. This was not made clear. One woman was brought from a 4 years stay at a nursing home to independent living. She couldn't take care of herself and was without her medication for days. Another in independent living grew very ill with Parkinson's disease. Even after numerous falls, confusion, and extreme weight loss, nothing was done to help her. No family was involved.Don't let this happen to you.

The best travel deals I've seen offered are consistently double occupancy. Seems that if one wants to travel alone it's very expensive. I'm old school and wouldn't want to bunk with another guy. Any suggestions?

we were visiting my mom in the PINES GENESIS ELDERCARE in Easton MD and i overheard the staff there that an asian nurse which is married and with 2 kids is having an affair with one of the management employee if this is true its not good, they should fire the nurse to set an example

STEALING FROM PATIENTS/PERSONAL THINGS AND SS INCOME Reply to this Comment

AS IT WAS SEEN ON TV THIS BENNER HEALTH CARE CENTER AT SHERMAN, HOUSTON,TX, EMPLOYEES HAD BEEN STEALING SOCIAL SECURITY INCOME CHECKS FROM PATIENTS..AND NOT PROVIDING SERVICES SINCE THE FACILITY DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY..THAT IS INCORRECT DUE TO POLICY AND HEALTH ISSUES. EMPLOYEES HAVE BEEN STEALING PERSONAL ITEMS AND ADULT DIAPERS FOR OTHER PATIENTS..LEAVING THEM WITH NO DIAPERS..SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE, COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN DONE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE..SOME JUSTICE PLEASE FOR THE UNPROTECTED AND UNDEFENSIVE ELDERS OR SICK, ILL PATIENTS..????????
