Excellent Nursing Home              Reply to this Comment

My father was a resident/patient at the Lady Lake Specialty Care facility for almost 2 years. He received excellent care and was treated like part of their family. The facilities employees, from the nurses to the cleaning staff, are polite, caring, and go out of their way to be sure the patient is comfortable. Thank you all for caring for my 91 year old Dad the way you did. Sincerely Mrs. James Dentici

rehab facility              Reply to this Comment

In the 2 weeks that my 90 yr. old father was here, he received no speech therapy for the first 5 days, an aid yelled at him to stand up, even though his prolonged hospitalization had weakened his muscles to the point where HE COULDN'T stand on his own--the reason he was sent to LLSCC! Then, the Dr. there prescribed medication for a condition he didn't have, & when we questioned him on that, he told us if we didn't like the treatment there, we should take him elsewhere! Then, rather than just take him off that med, he canceled ALL meds! Two days later, at 2 a.m.,they transfered him to a hospital that his wife had specifically requested that he NOT be sent to for a condition that we're still not sure he really has!Stay away from this place!!!

This facility should be closed - they killed my mother by not taking care of her. She had infections caused by them - this is the worse place in the world!

In going over different post sites, what happened to you does not seem like an isolated incident. Go over to the site for Englewood Healthcare And Rehab. Englewood, Florida.Read the posts carefully. I think you may find it to be of interest.

LLSC              Reply to this Comment

I agree that it happens everywhere - what I find appalling is it is allowed to continue.

Lady lake Specialty Care              Reply to this Comment

It is apalling that sub standard care is allowed to continue. Contact the Ombudsman in your state and complain, complain, complain.

LLSC              Reply to this Comment

I wanted you all to know that I had contacted the Florida Atty General who forwarded my complaint on to the AHCA - I received a letter today telling me that they investigated and found that the care is up to standards.....it is what I expected - they cover up everything - they do not care that people are dying because of the care they are NOT getting while in this facility......my Mom is dead because of the lack of care and I am being told that LLSC did everything they were supposed to including turning her - makes me wonder then ....how come my Mom had sores all over her behind and a 1-inch split right at the crack - hmmmmm, think maybe LLSC is lying about turning her??????? I just want to cry because nobody cares!

Standars of care              Reply to this Comment

Sorry about your mother but this places have certain rules and standars of care and if they do not follow then they get closed down. They also get surprise inspections, so they can't hide everithing. My Father was suposed to go to one of this facilities for rehab and yes he did got ulcers, they started on the hospital and break out at the facility. I wanted the best care available to him and a facility where a nurse have 26 patients at their care, the Doctors are Gods and the CNA's do what they can was not the place where we want dad to be, so I took him home where the best care in the world is and I can keep track of what is happening. I took time off, hire a CNA, get the necesary equipment, took him to the terapist, the doctor and even sat at his side when he had a bad reaction to a prescription from the Doctor who knew him for 10 years. Was an economical hardship but we where happy to know he had everything he need. Afther a cupple of years he died at home with his loved ones at his bed side... not at the care of strangers. Buttom line don't blame some one else because you feel guilty that you where unable to do what she did for you when you where a baby, care nurish and keep you happy and healthy. What we are teaching our children, when mommy an daddy get sick and al ditch the in a nursing home... I am sorry but I will not like this for my self and I teach my children to honnor and care for they elders in their most subblime stage of life so when I get there (pretty soon) they will do the same for me and so on. And about the infections I learned that even toching a shipping cart at the supermarket you can get MRSA or Salmonela even hepatitis c, so whatch out they are every where...

Lady Lake Speciality              Reply to this Comment

You are full of crap - how dare you say its my fault - you are an idiot and you really should learn how to spell before trying to act like you are so great! May you rot in Hell - you jerk!

Lady Lake              Reply to this Comment

By the way smart @** if you had read the thread you would have read that my Mother was in REHAB not a Nursing Home - you dimwit!

Lady Lake              Reply to this Comment

I keep re-reading what you said and you are a really BIG idiot! Start looking up the infections caused by hospitals C-Diff, etc is caused because the staff doesn't wash their hands after picking their butts - oh, maybe that is it - you must be an Aide at one of those places and you know you are the reason that people die because you are dirty! You have really pissed me off - you know nothing about my relationship with my Mom - so drop dead you idiot!

LLSC              Reply to this Comment

I think I need to say "I'm sorry" to anyone that may read this thread (except the person who decided it was my fault that my Mother died). My Mom was in Rehab to get strength back in her legs - being there meant she would get more attention than what would be allowed by her ins co at home. She was doing great until she started being tired all the time and the nurses just medicated her to keep her sleeping! They didn't change her and she developed open sores, they lied to me when I called (I live in CT she in FL) to the person who is blaming me - I talked to her everynight and I talked to my father who by the way has no legs due to infections he caught in the hospital). That too was neglect by the rehab in taking care of my Dad then my Mom - like I said they lied! My mother should not have died but I AM NOT FEELING GUILTY - it is the rehab that killed her and I plan on making my life goal to closing that discusting place down! They only care about the money not the people that depend on them. I keep doing research on them and I will catch them and they will get closed down. So the person who condemmed me please note - YOU WILL BE OUT OF YOUR JOB AT LLSC SOON SO YOU BETTER FIND ANOTHER JOB WHERE YOU CLEAN BED PANS!!

LLSC              Reply to this Comment

I am a CNA with over 13 years experience. I was looking over and reading all the threads and comments everyone was leaving. I am thinking of getting a job here. I though think who ever was responding as LLSC was very unproffessional. I though feel symathy for the one's who have lost thier family. I have been there and I know what it is like on both sides. I am a CNA, but I had one family member that was ill. My own mother in my care developed an decubitus ulcer. I did everything I could do to take care of her. I sent her to wound care DR's, treated it, She was turned & she had the best care. Though sometimes a person can develop these with in a short period of time. Especially if that person has poor circulation or another condition. I though give pride to her MD's for helping me and ommunicating with me. Though I had to turn to them to have surgery done to heal my mother's wound because sometimes the elderly do develop pus pockets. The ulcer's will not close. So they had to do surgery and take out the pocket and heal the wound that way. I had to have her in a Nursing Home for 30 days. It was extremly hard to do that. I did though and I did have to remove her out of one that was long distant and move her to one closer so that I could visit her daily. After she healed, she had no more problems but they said she was high risk. I took care of my mother for 12 years. Those 12 years I don't regret. My mother was considered total care for that time. She died at her home with her family where she wanted to be. I will say it's not easy. Sometimes we have to work short staff, some staff don't work together as a team. If these things happen as with any other job or career your body breaks down fast. I can no longer lift anything over 50lbs do to the abuse that I put myself through and I am in my 30's. It's very hard on everyone. Alot times family put there loved ones in homes and I know for my self I have heard what my patients said. My daughter or my son, They put me here they want even call me or visit me. They sold my house took everything I have, Then they go down hill and it don't take long. They give up, thier personality's change. We do the best we can do. That's all anyone can expect. As long as you can go to sleep at night and awake and look at yourself in the mirror the next morning. You have to content with who you are. I am very sorry for your loss, but I feel like if you didn't like the care your parent was recieving then you could have removed them out and put them closer to you so you could monitor them.

I am beyond trying to explain - MY MOTHER WAS NOT PUT IN A HOME - She was there to get REHAB - she had a beautiful home and was self sufficient! She was only there for a short time -I wish people would read things and I am done explaining. This site was to let people know about this LLSC and it turned into me being the one that killed my Mom - so to all of you - drop dead!

Wonderfull Care              Reply to this Comment

I HAD A LOVED ONE WHO WAS IN LADY LAKE SPECIALTY CARE IN 1999 IT WAS A NEW FACILITY AND THE CARE WAS EXCELLENT. I COULD NOT HAVE WISHED FOR BETTER CARE. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE NOW BUT MY EXPERIENCE WAS A GOOD ONE THE STAFF WEE GREAT AND THE PATIENT CARE WAS EXCELLENT.

LLSC              Reply to this Comment

Its funny - it seems that the workers at LLSC like to write in CAP LETTERS....I guess its your way of letting us know you are one of the folks that neglect your patients! I will never rest until LLSC takes responsibilty for letting my Mom die and no matter how many times you write telling us what a great place it is - you are fooling yourself!

CAPITAL LETTERS              Reply to this Comment

REGARDING YOUR COMMENT ABOUT WRITING IN CAPITAL LETTERS. THE REASON I DO THIS IS BECAUSE IT IS EASIER FOR ME TO READ. NO I DID NOT WORK AT LLSC. THE COMMENTS I WROTE WERE TRUE MY LOVED ONE DID RECEIVE WONERFULL CARE IN 1999. PLEASE DO NOT CALL ME A LIAR

Cap Letters              Reply to this Comment

Instead of writing in cap letters you can increase the size of your fonts - that way people don't assume you are "LYING" or "YELLING" Tip: If you have a mouse with a wheel and are using any of the below browsers, you can quickly and easily increase and decrease the size of your fonts in your browser by holding down the Ctrl key, and while continuing to hold down the key, move the mouse wheel up or down.
