my mother waited up to 1hr on several occasions to go to bathroom - and she wet her pants. Not enough CNA staff

I was also there. I received excellent care. The doctors told me that I would never be able to live alone at home again. I received wonderful therapy, the nursing staff was great. Now I am home, and suggest Windmill Manor to everyone!!

I am glad that you had such a positive experience at Windmill Manor. We have excellent staff, a dedicated therapy department and a medical director that makes at least weekly rounds. Melissa Reed Administrator

people who dont do cna work do not have the slightest idea of what we go thru for there love ones Reply to this Comment

your mom is probably one of those ones that dont have a problem until her family comes and you all are probably the type of family that is never satisfied if you think you could find her a better place which i dont think so then maybe you should consider taking your mom out and taking her home and you and your family take care of her besides there isnt enough cna staff thas probably the best place for her since while you want to et online and try to down the place i bet your mom is still here

i have worked around all the nursing homes in the coralville/iowa city area.windmill manor is one of the best facilities to work at.For those of you who do not work in healthcare-take a step back and look at what we do for your loved ones.We not only have to deal with our patients but also deal with the families.Sometimes the patient is very happy with the care they are getting,but the family is not.In my opinion it is the family that is causing alot of the problems-usually by guilt of not being there for their loved one.The families that come day in and day out-those are the ones who compliment on our care,because they see it EVERYDAY,not just once in a while.

The nursing staff is overworked,and they have staff leaving everyday.From department heads on down.The building is overall a nice place and the staff does the best the can,but the administrator is rude and very unprofessional.The owners need to take a look at how many people have left since she has been over the building.

My mom has been here over a week and still no phone in her room, What kind of place doesn't have phones in patients rooms?

I just found out no patients have phones in their rooms. It's like a jailhouse or something. I'd complain louder but I don't want them to not like my Mom because of my complaints. I live far away and rely on a phone to communicate with my Mom. This place does not think about patient's basic rights!

My Mother has been here for 10 days now, and still they have not given her a shower. My niece visited her and demanded the staff do this, and they said they will tomorrow. Don't place anyone here unless you have to. My mom has never complained her whole life, and now she complains meakly. Shame on the admin for running such as terrible facility.
