First Snow
-- by Terry Ann Braaten - Copyright 1999 -- tahoegirl@freewheeling.com

The first snow of the season
looks like a Christmas card,
stacked up on the tree limbs
and blanketing the yard.

Everywhere I look it's white,
all clean, pristine and pure.
No footsteps mar the beauty
all is peaceful and demure.

I love to walk in the newness
before other prints are there,
enjoying the simple pleasures
taking in the cool, clean air.

So, let me thank You, Jesus
for the first snowfall You sent.
Each one that comes is awesome
but the first's magnificent!
