Dog Days
-- by John T. Baker - Copyright 2000 -- JTB8817@aol.com

From my vast store of ignorance
I sadly realize
The volume of the knowledge that
I'll never scrutinize.

There's less and less I know each day
Of what's out there to learn;
I'm falling fast so far behind
It gives me great concern.

I'm losing ground so steadily
I'm just about fed up;
I once was deemed a smart old dog . . .
I'm now just one dumb pup.
