This poetry has purpose:
Tis supposed to make you laugh.
It's from an actual happening
And that's the greater half!.
Seems (and that's beginning
Of jokes pursuing to some length)
A late-month pregnant woman
Boarded London bus (used strength).
She had a man arrested
For "ridicule" of some sort
And poem gets the testimony
Defense presented in court.
The judge asked the man a question
The sequence of what did happened.
He used his best decorum
But a collapse to laughter snapped then.
Not at first, but grin was
What first made the lady cringe.
She sat beneath a sign said,
"Coming Soon: The Gold Dust Twins."
That grin did cause the first move
But place she moved caused welling
Of snicker: because the Sign said,
"Sloan's Does Limit the Swelling."
Second move, more pointed,
Landed her under shave stick ad.
"William Stick Did The Trick"
"And shoulders shook bloody bad!"
"Before I got arrested,
She sat in fourth place funny
'Cause sign above was tire ad
I applied to extended tummy!"
"And what did that read," was question
That compelled a new composure.
Delay in telling of what's there
Was loss preventing closure.
"Get yourself together, now,"
Was cautioned from the bench.
Defendant tried his darndest
To from his laughter wrench ...
As court was near impatient,
"Dunlop Rubber Could Prevent
This Accident That Happened."
Case won, laugher home was sent!
