 According to a Janus Report, "Researchers found that 74% of women age 65 and older engaged in weekly sexual activity, including masterbation, compared to 68% of women ages 18 to 26."
According to a study reported in the latest issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine, there's a numerical correlation between "coffee drinking and a higher rate of sexual activity in elderly women and a decreased prevalence of impotency among elderly men." Ananais Diokno of the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich., said that the reason may be that coffee is a powerful stimulant of the central nervous system and relaxant of the smooth muscles. Then again, "Coffee users may be more liberal in their sexual behavior." Then again, maybe they just can't fall asleep.
According to the "experts," marital ardor declines as couples age, both for biological reasons and because society frowns on Grandma and Grandpa having sex. Of course, we have found that most of these "experts" haven't reached the age of real maturity.
Adults have sex 57 times a year, or about once a week. Under 40 years of age--78 times a year. Over 70 years of age--8 times. Married people--67 times. Separated people--66 times. Divorced and never married people--55 times Widowed people--6 times.
Married people who say they are the happiest have the most sex. Whether happy people have more sex, or more sex makes you happy, researchers don't know. Among all people, married or not, happy people are having sex 64.5 times per year compared with 55.5 for those who are "pretty happy" and 49.5 for those that are "unhappy."
Some other surveys report that men on the average have sex 66.4 times during the year, and women reported having intercourse 50.6 times. Something is amiss, don't you think?
