• Background: Born in Nebraska and raised in Watertown, So. Dakota. U.S. Naval Cadet discharged in 1947. Graduated with a BSGE (Bachelor of Science in General Engineering) in 1949 from The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota. Thirty-five years as a electro-mechanical engineer, Chief Engineer, Engineering Manager or Engineering Department Manager in the design of high-tech recording and data storage systems. Married in 1955 to Dotha Herald and raised two daughters, Cori and Marla. Four grandchildren. Retired in 1983 and moved from the S.F. Bay Area (Portola Valley) to Weed, California and began writing about creativity.
